Help Lisa fight metastatic breast cancer

Donation protected
Today is another day, Sun is shining. Hopefully I get to go home. It’s so cold in hospitals. Because I’m immune compromised I’m being monitored closely. I’ve had a chest Xray and CT and bloodwork, sadly I’ve picked up an infection in my chest and lungs which has now set me back.
Time to recover and repair my body and get some strength before I start my new treatment. Sun and Sea air are calling me to Wongaling Beach.
THANK YOU ALL
The generosity has been so overwhelming, It fills me with hope and gratitude.
This will make my treatment so much easier knowing I can now focus on the physical side rather than the financials.

Lisa is a a metastatic breast cancer patient originally diagnosed in 2012. She thought her journey was over when she was given the all clear in 2013 after Chemotherapy and Radiation. Alas she was re-diagnosed in 2015 with Metastatic Breast cancer. ( This means the cancer travelled from the Breast to her bones, lungs and Stomach.) As a metastatic patient, this means her cancer is incurable but treatable to ensure she can live with progression free cancer for her remaining life.
In 2016 she undertook a course of treatment (Palbocyclib) that cost over $40,000 per month, and was instrumental in campaigning with Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) and Bob Katter, the Federal member for Kennedy in getting that drug listed on the PBS so that it cost Australian women $30 per month instead of $40,000 per month.
That drug stopped working for her soon after it was listed on the PBS. She undertook several other treatments, and eventually exhausted most Chemo based treatments.
In 2024 a new drug became available to all women in Australia, however its cost was prohibitive at $12,500 per month. She had to pay this to continue treatment as it was not available on the PBS. She campaigned again with Bob Katter and BCNA to get this drug listed on the PBS, wrote to the Federal Health Minister and anyone else who would listen and is hoping it will be made available to Australian women in July 2024.
Unfortunately that drug caused an irreversible lung disease that forced her to stop taking this drug. She now has to change to another Chemotherapy that will now cost her $8,500 per month.
She did not want to do Go Fund Me, but her friends have told her that she must do this so they can do something for her. After all her efforts to get drugs listed on the PBS it was time to pay it forward.
This treatment will give her progression free survival for as long as possible.
Thank you for your time and patience, you will make a difference by donating today, and she will be very grateful.
