Eva Dupuis: Save The LadyParts.

Donation protected
Eva needs our help. Can you please donate and/or share this campaign?

Eva’s been dedicated to getting healthier these past two years. She changed her lifestyle habits, lost over 40 pounds, exercises several times a week, and decided to take genetic testing for cancer. Unfortunately, the testing came back as an epic fail regarding all her lady parts, with a 70% likelihood to develop both ovarian and breast cancer.

To say that's been a massive shock is an understatement. Her sister took the same test and got identical results.

Due to all of this (and a real love of life), she’s decided to be proactive and her doctors have recommended having a total hysterectomy. That will happen in August 2022, followed by a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery.

A second and third shock soon followed: Her health insurance won’t cover much and her employment is only able to offer 30% of her salary during the time off, which would be 4 weeks, and then 3 weeks if there are no complications.

Many companies used covid as an excuse to cut back and do away with the raises and bonuses that were standard. Eva’s company is one of those. Florida did away with covid pay, so despite being with the company for 16 years, when she was sick in June, she was forced to use her PTO instead.

Unfortunately, the company insurance isn’t good and leaves a lot of financial gaps to cover. It’s the “Americans can be covered and still go bankrupt and lose their homes due to medical bills” kind of health insurance.

So, she finds herself in a stressful situation where she’s not only facing a crappy decision how to handle impending cancer in all her lady parts but also financial ruin.
And she’s not one to ask for help. EVER.

This is where I come in. I’m asking for help. 100% of it (past the GFM fees) will go directly to her.

If you know Eva, then you know she’s the very first person to step in and help others, even if it means giving up rare time off, listening and problem-solving, driving hours to help a friend, or pet sitting unruly animals in a pinch.

Eva is a bird specialist and rescuer who has taken in a lot of noisy, happy feathered friends. She's a spiritual person who loves nature, is always curious, reading, and learning about everything around her. She’s a renaissance faire, comic con, antiquing, and horror enthusiast. She encourages people to be the best version of themselves and she's loyal and dedicated to those around her.
I’m a better person for having her as a friend.

She has limited family, no children, is single, and doing this alone.

Please help us keep her going in what will probably be the most difficult time of her life - and know that by helping by donating and/or sharing this, you are saving a life, keeping someone (and their pets) safe in their home, and restoring sanity.

For her first surgery, she’s going to need around $11,500 (this includes the GFM fees) to cover the gap with the procedure, follow-up visits, testing, medications, and living expenses during recovery time.
The second surgery will happen next year, and we don’t know all the details yet.

THANK YOU.
