Eva Misses Her Pets (and Her Dad!) — Help Us Reunite

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out to ask for your help in bringing my six-year-old daughter, Eva, to stay with me in New Mexico this summer. She lives in Spain, and the custody agreement allows her to spend summers here with me — something we both look forward to all year.

Two years ago, she stayed the whole summer, and it was one of the best times of my life. Last year, I was only able to see her for one week due to financial challenges. This year, I truly believed things would be different — I had started a federal job and hoped for a more stable future. But it’s been a rocky path: I was fired in February, then reinstated, and now I’m once again facing the possibility of losing my job. My financial situation is uncertain, but I’m doing everything I can to give Eva a joyful and loving summer.

I’ve already arranged childcare and a nurturing environment for her stay — the only obstacle left is covering the travel costs. In order to bring her here and return her safely at the end of the summer, I need to purchase three international plane tickets:

One for me to fly to Spain at the beginning of summer

One for Eva to fly back with me to New Mexico

One for me to return her home at the end of the summer

Since this is peak travel season, each ticket is expected to cost well over $1,000, and that adds up quickly. I'll also have to pay for accomodaton during the trips to get her and bring her back. On top of that, I am still required to pay full child support during the summer, even while Eva is living with me. I take that responsibility seriously, but it makes it nearly impossible to cover these additional expenses on my own.

Eva and I are incredibly close. We video call several times a week, always laughing and sharing little moments from our days. She’s especially excited to see our pets again — she loves them so much and talks about them often. I know how much this summer would mean to her: a chance to be with her dad, not just through a screen, but in real life — making pancakes, playing, having adventures, cuddling the pets, and making memories we’ll both carry forever.
