A Glimspe of Hope: Help Eva with her Cancer Treatment

Donation protected
When I was 33, I had to have my uterus removed due to cervical cancer. Now I am 35, with two recurrences under my belt and sadly, the cancer now has spread to my bones, lungs and parts of my abdomen. There is hope for me at a German clinic, but I need your help! Help me fight this battle once and for all!

I was diagnosed with cervical cancer, right before Christmas in 2021. In addition to have had surgery, I have also undergone 14 chemotherapy treatments, internal and external radiation, and immunotherapy. Despite all my efforts, the cancer has not gone away.

I don't have much time or options left, but I refuse to give up! I have found a promising clinic in Germany. But the cost of the clinic is much greater than I can come up with in such a short amount of time, so I'm praying that you'll help me beat the cancer once and for all!

Dearest reader,
My name is Eva. I live in Norway and I am 35 years old. As you read this, I have just told my family and friends that the cervical cancer I got in 2021 has not responded to any of the treatments I have been through.
Instead, it has returned twice for the past three years. And this time it has spread more than previously - aggressively and quickly. The reality I am facing now, is that I don't have much time or options left to beat this. But I have faith, and I'm not willing to give up!

This is why I am asking for your help!

On December 13th in 2023, I contacted the hospital as I was in great pain. I had not been able to eat or drink for many days, my stomach was swollen, hard and painful. I didn't understand why, it didn't make any sense to have all this symptoms. My world fell apart, when I for the third time, heard the doctor tell me "It's the cancer and it has spread." This time around, the doctors were not as confident as they had been before. We were no longer speaking of curable as I had heard the previous times - now it was more of maintaining it for as long as possible with chemotherapy. It was in that moment I realized how bad the situation actually. But I still had left in me, I hoped and prayed that I would find a miracle.
The only option from the doctors was chemotherapy. This wasn’t a cure, but a way of buying myself more time. So I decided to search for other alternatives. I could not give up so easily and especially not without trying to find options.

When you're reading this in July 2024, I have received 9 courses of chemotherapy since December 2023. Unfortunately, it turns out that the treatment has not been working in the way as I had hoped.

The cancer is angry now, so angry that it has spread across my cervix, stomach, to my skeleton, lymph nodes and lungs. It is bad, really bad.

I don't have many options left to play with. The options I have cost more money than I own - or might take longer time than I possibly have.
And it’s here, dear donor, that I ask you for your kind and much needed help.

Because I want to live!

With your donation, I will hopefully be able to live longer than the treatment options the doctors are giving me in Norway.
I have found a clinic in Germany, Arcadia Clinic, which focuses on individually adapted and integrative cancer treatment. This means that they combine standard hospital treatment with other methods that should be beneficial for cancer patients, they use methods to strengthen and revitalize the immune system, which is greatly weakened by chemotherapy and radiation. A strong immune system is also considered one of the most important components for the body to respond positively to cancer treatment and to enchance the patients' life quality.
A week at the clinic costs between 9,000-12,000 EUR and a patient stays approx. 3-4 weeks. That means approx. 48,000 EUR for 4 weeks.
In addition to the treatment itself, there are travel expenses and medicines. Since the treatment is individual, it can last longer or shorter, it all depends on the individual suggestion of treatment.
The clinic has received fantastic reviews from other patients with cancer, and the doctor and founder, Dr. Henning Saupe, has over 30 years of experience in treating cancer patients.
I'm going to spend all my savings that I have on this, but I still don't have enough to get the treatment done. That is why I have created this Gofundme.
The money collected will exclusively go towards costs related to the treatment at the clinic. This means:

  • the main treatment
  • medication
  • nutritional supplements
  • follow-up treatments
  • and travel expenses.

I have contacted the clinic and sent a request with the necessary medical documents so that they can make an assessment as to whether they can help me or not.
Only when I have had a consultation with the doctor and the clinic, will I know what the actual costs will be. I will be transparent about all costs and will update you continuously.
Transparency is important to me, which is why I am also raising funds on a Norwegian site at the same time as this Gofundme. Every bit of help will make a difference.

I will of course also keep you informed about the way towards, during and after the clinic. I want to show you how big of a difference your donation can make. Big or small!

(me and part of my cheering squad)

The worst part in all of this is that, all of this could have been prevented. Cervical cancer is the ONLY type of cancer to have a clear path towards elimination. Had I and/or boys in my age been vaccinated when I was younger, I would not have been in this horrible situation. Cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer type among women. In 2022 it caused the death of roughly 350.000 women. In Norway, 1 in 4 women who gets diagnosed with this disease, will die. I do not want to be that fourth woman.

I would like to give a huge THANK YOU for taking the time to read this. Not only am I hoping that you will donate towards my treatment, but that you also ask people around you to get vaccinated against HPV. Only then can we eliminate cervical cancer once and for all.
