Eva Villegas Barrios

Hello family and friends. Thank you for taking your time to read this. We are heart broken. Our mom, Eva Villegas Barrios has lost her long battle to stage 4 breast cancer. Our mom was diagnosed with breast cancer on 6/1/2021, a very aggressive cancer that had already spread to her liver and we just recently found out it had spread to her brain. After getting chemotherapy for 3 years, and had just started getting radiation on her brain, her body couldn’t take it anymore. On 8/11/2024 she suffered a fall due to weakness. At first we assumed it was due to the radiation treatments. When we took her to the hospital after her fall, we found out her organs were failing too. Although she was still fighting so hard, there was nothing the doctors could do anymore. She was released from the hospital to go home and do what she loved the most; to be surrounded by her loved ones. Our mom Eva was always an incredible mother, wife, sister daughter, grandmother and friend. She was a loving and caring mom. She did everything she could so her kids never suffer. As a wife she was always there for our dad. She was his Rock. As a sister she kept everyone together. As a daughter she always made sure our grandparents didn’t struggle. As a friend she was caring and loyal. We are blessed to have had such an amazing woman as our mom. We will always love her and remember all the good times we spent together. She will always be remembered as “Madre Eva”, the nickname given to her by our grandmother, her mom.

Familiares y amigos, gracias por tomarse su tiempo para leer esto. Estamos con el corazón roto. Nuestra mamá, Eva Villegas Barrios, ha perdido su larga batalla contra el cáncer de mama en etapa 4. A nuestra mamá le diagnosticaron cáncer de mama el 1ro de junio del 2021, un cáncer muy agresivo que ya se había extendido al hígado y recientemente descubrimos que se había extendido al cerebro. Después de recibir quimioterapia durante 3 años y recién había comenzado a recibir radiación en su cerebro, su cuerpo no pudo soportarlo más. El 11 de agosto sufrió una caída por debilidad. Al principio asumimos que se debía a los tratamientos de radiación. Cuando la llevamos al hospital después de su caída, descubrimos que sus órganos también estaban fallando. Aunque todavía estaba luchando tan duro, los médicos ya no podían hacer nada. La dieron el alta del hospital para volver a casa y hacer lo que ella más amaba; estar rodeada de sus seres queridos. Nuestra mamá Eva siempre fue una madre, esposa, hermana, hija, abuela y amiga increíble. Ella era una madre cariñosa y atenta. Ella siempre hizo todo lo que pudo para que sus hijos nunca sufrieran. Como esposa, ella siempre estuvo ahí para nuestro papá. Ella era su Roca. Como hermana, mantuvo a todos juntos. Como hija, ella siempre se aseguraba de que nuestros abuelos no tuvieran que batallar. Como amiga, ella era cariñosa y leal. Tenemos la suerte de haber tenido una mujer tan increíble como nuestra mamá. Siempre la amaremos y recordaremos todos los buenos momentos que pasamos junto an ella. Siempre será recordada como “Madre Eva”, apodo que le puso nuestra abuela, su mamá. Estamos recaudando fondos debido a múltiples facturas médicas y gastos funerarios pendientes. Gracias.
