Help Me Attend University

My name is Eva, I come from Slovakia and I currently live in the Netherlands. I left my home country few years ago because I couldn't continue my studies due to financial reasons and it was very difficult (if not impossible) to find a good job in Slovakia without any previous experience.

I have always been eager to learn new things and gain more knowledge. When I was 10 years old, I was admitted to a school that was designed to help talented children to get the most out of their talents. The school was specialized to prepare students for academic education so after my graduation it was expected from me to go to a college or a university.

Unfortunatelly, even though the education itself is for free in Slovakia, my parents couldn't afford my other study and living expenses. Moreover, it was needed that I start to work so I could support them.

I have begun a new life in the Netherlands, working hard to support my family and I feel like finally this is the right time for me to go back to school so I would like to continue my studies here. I am not a lazy person, I always try to find some ways to support myself (I work overtime and give language lessons in my free time) but once I start going to school again, I want to pay all my attention to studying, without worrying about the financial side. I don't have Dutch nationality (yet) so I can't apply for any student grant from the Dutch government.

I want to study Linguistics. The money I hope to raise will be used to pay for the university tuition (it is approximately 1.980 € per year), study books and other costs connected with studying. The goal includes money for rent and food but I am sure that once I start studying I will find a parttime job.

Educating myself means a lot to me, I love gaining knowledge (any of my friends can vouch for that), I spend my free time teaching, reading books and educating myself in different fields (I can speak few languages and regularly join MOOC online courses.) so studying what I love with people like me would be 'My dream comes true'.

I will be grateful for every donation and I will work hard to make every cent of it worth.
