Romal's family left Afghanistan heading North
Romal's family has left Afghanistan. Help them on their way to a new life.
I hate moving. Stuff to throw out, still too much to move. It’s not cheap either. Planning, travel delays, a new home to organize. It’s bad enough moving across town, let alone across the world.
Romal’s family is moving to Alaska. It’s a little tougher than moving to California. They have run the Taliban gauntlet and have left home behind for a new home in the North. They have little but the clothes on their back; still, they want to bring us presents. Remarkable. I am honored to be their friend.
17 loved ones on an uncertain road. They have no stuff to ship, just themselves.
Romal and I have paid USCIS their pound of flesh to apply for humanitarian paroles for all: $10K. Lawyer fees about the same, so far, and more after they get here. They have living expenses while they await in Pakistan for travel documents. Then North to Alaska! We have budgeted $2K each for airfare.
Whatever you can chip in will help. We will be forever in your debt for your kindness, good wishes, and help.
