Urgent Help Needed: Evacuating My Family from Gaza

Donation protected

My name is Tala Lulu, and it is with a heavy heart that I reach out to seek your help.
Launching this campaign is something I never imagined I would do. Unfortunately, as a last
resort I must now take action to rescue my family from the ongoing genocide and collective
starvation in Gaza aiming to facilitate their relocation to Egypt. Your support whether it’s a
contribution of £5 or £1000 will play a crucial role in bringing my family one step closer to
escaping the harrowing conditions they currently face.
Initially, leaving Gaza was an option my family sought to avoid and holding onto the hope
that the war would soon come to an end. Regrettably, it has been over 5 months, and the
situation is deteriorating in Gaza making it increasingly unlivable. It’s worth mentioning that
I initially started a campaign to rebuild the family home which had been destroyed during
the war. However, I shifted the focus toward an evacuation campaign and the fund received
(£990) will now contribute to this evacuating campaign.

My beloved grandparents, aunts, uncles and their children lived dignified lives before the
ongoing genocide. Now they are facing unimaginable challenges including starvation,
sickness, and dehumanization following multiple displacement and the destruction of their
family home.
My grandmother (74 years old) used to work as a teacher and devoted her life to education.
My grandfather (75 years old), a well-known footballer in Gaza, inspired many through his
passion for sport. Tragically, like 70 percent of homes in Gaza, their house was bombed and
turned into rubble. They worked hard to build this house with love and hard work for their
children. It holds within its walls not just bricks, but a lifetime of memories, laughter, and
the echoes of a family's history.
Amidst the ongoing genocide, my family has been displaced and moved from one place to
another under constant bombardment and left without shelter and security. They currently
end up in tents in the southern part of Gaza surviving hard conditions and lacking life’s
necessities. For the past five months, my grandmother has been sleeping on the floor, rain
dripping on her, carpet wet from water. My grandfather hesitates before tacking each bit of
a piece of bread. My aunts back to the old ages in every aspect of their lives, while their
children have been living under rockets and bombs and suffer from trauma. Fortunately,
their house was bombed and collapsed while they were away from it. No shelter, no food,
no water, no security, not even a basic bathroom but they consider themselves fortunate to
be alive.
Leaving Gaza through Rafah to Egypt stands as the only option they have to rescue
themselves and reclaim a life of dignity. While this option is exceptionally difficult, it has
become our last resort after exhausting all other possibilities.
Your support means a great deal, and I extend my heartfelt gratitude for both your assistance and willingness to share this appeal. Thank you for standing with us in solidarity.
Below are details regarding the costs and how funds will be utilized.
Best Regards
Tala
