Ayah's Appeal: Rebuilding Life Beyond the Horrors

Hello, I'm Kat and as you may know, I travelled to Gaza in June 2023 as a mentor in product management for the community at Gaza Sky Geeks.

One of the founders I met was Ayah, and I'm helping her to set up this GoFundMe.

Hi there!

I'm Ayah Besaiso, a 26-year-old industrial engineer from Gaza City. Before October 7th, my life was brimming with joy, enthusiasm, and purpose. I cherished every moment, playing multiple roles from data analyst to gym lover, and from artist to master of ceremony. I lived independently, nurturing dreams of owning a car, traveling the world, and inspiring others. I launched a new business named Bayan_for_quranic_artistry a month before the genocide started.

But then the war shattered everything - our routines, our souls, and our dreams. Forced to flee after we lost 3 of my family members, my family and I found ourselves in Rafah City, displaced nine times, living in a tent initially, then pooling resources to afford an overpriced apartment in a dangerous area.

Rockets pierce the air, fear lurks around every corner, and the past five months have stripped us of everything we held dear. As a result, our home has been completely destroyed, meaning that we've become homeless in a certain way.

Given our current desperate situation, where affording basic necessities is a challenge, we've come up with a plan to rebuild our lives elsewhere.

Losing our home, source of income, and my business led us to seek help through this campaign. The raised funds will cover the expensive travel expenses through Rafah Crossing (with travel coordination costing $5,000 per person), sustain us with living costs in Gaza until departure due to the loss of our income sources, and provide support for our fresh start beyond these confines. This is my heartfelt plea for assistance, seeking to break free from this dangerous reality and rediscover the beauty and hope that once illuminated my life.

If the situation improves, we'll use the funds to rebuild my home. Any surplus will go towards assisting other families with their rebuilding efforts.

We are an extended family member with diverse age group, we especially have a twins ( a beautiful girl and boy) whom we struggle maintaining their basic needs.

أنا آية بسيسو، عمري 26 سنة، مهندسة صناعية من مدينة غزة. قبل السابع من أكتوبر، كانت حياتي مليئة بالبهجة والحماس والهدف. لقد اعتززت بكل لحظة، ولعبت أدوارًا متعددة بدءًا من محلل البيانات إلى عاشق صالة الألعاب الرياضية، ومن رسام إلى عريف احتفالات. لقد عشت بشكل مستقل، وأحلم بامتلاك سيارة، والسفر حول العالم، وإلهام الآخرين. لقد أطلقت مشروعًا جديدًا اسمه Bayan_for_quranic_artistry قبل شهر من بدء الإبادة الجماعية.
