ABA evaluation for Grayden

Everyone knows when a family member or friend needs support most people's first inclination is to help in any way they can. Lots of times though people feel a certain way about asking. Some are too proud, some are embarrassed, and some feel that what they are going through wouldn't resonate the same with someone else. That's why I'm writing this.

My friend Kelly Thurber Glaub was blessed with a beautiful little boy, Grayden Styles Glaub twenty-seven months ago. She isn't entirely isolated or alone, she has friends and family, but many are far away like myself, her friends and her parents. Her support system day to day is limited as a single parent.

Grayden was diagnosed this past week with autism. She suspected this may be possible, but the harsh reality of this diagnosis brings uncertainty and fear. Grayden needs different skills and education in order for him to thrive. In order for this to happen she needs to find where he falls on the spectrum.

The medicaid program in Louisiana has a fifteen month waiting list for this type of appointment, and that is just for an appointment. This appointment itself could even be months after depending on how his diagnosis severity is prioritized. Kelly would like to put Grayden on a self pay list that requires a down payment of $750 of the initial $1500. That cost is upfront before labs and co-pays. This would grant Grayden an appointment no later than July of 2023. She would like for Grayden to start his future in the most positive way he can with the best foundation and skill set she can obtain for him as soon as possible. She needs Grayden to tell her what he needs. Finding out where he is on the spectrum will help him get the assistance he needs through ABA therapy.

This would require any donation you can afford comfortably in aiding Grayden into his now future.

Thank you to all who have donated, have reached out to check on Grayden, and to those who have shared this post. I am excited to share that we have an appointment on June 29 and within a week or so of that appointment we will have a lot of answers that we’ve been waiting for. ❤️
