Eva Maxwell-Fischer COVID Relief
My mother, Eva, went into ICU for COVID-19 on October 8th, 2020. Within a few weeks, the virus developed into double pneumonia, causing severe damage to her lungs. After being transferred to two rehab facilities, her health is slowly improving. Treatments and expenses are costly. As of June 9th, 2021, our insurance is denying some rehab coverage. Because of this loss, Eva’s doctors are refusing to provide her with any more physical therapy. To which we ask, how is she supposed to come home healthy if they only accomplish the bare minimum of keeping her alive?
Any donations would be greatly appreciated and will go towards my mother’s medical expenses, at-home care, and recovery.
Words cannot express how grueling this time has been for our family. While the rest of the country slowly grows to normality, it feels as though we’ve been stuck in the same endless whirlwind since October. Between calls that Eva may not live through the night, to spending on unplanned procedures--it has been a constant rollercoaster that we can’t seem to get off of. We are facing debt from the rehabilitation facility.
For those who aren’t going through, or never went through, something similar, I’m not sure they’ll ever understand the mental, physical, and financial toll this has reaped on our family.
It sickens me how quickly people assume normality is on the rise. Now, I see people harking that COVID was never real, just because it didn’t affect them personally. Or worse, that the survival rate was 98% and it only affects those who were unhealthy to begin with. But what about the 2%? Do they not have families and loved ones like you? What about the people like my mom who suffered/are suffering the worst illness of their lives? I only wish people could see the reality of what they choose to ignore.
But, from someone who has lived through this experience, I would never wish it upon anybody- not even my worst enemy. No one deserves to go through what my family has endured.
My mom, Eva, is a remarkable, strong woman whose love and determination inspires me daily. She made friends wherever she went, and always made people feel appreciated, no matter who they were. Her generosity and light made not only my life better, but many others. I hold her values true to my heart, and humbly ask for prayers and any donation you can provide- if possible.
I understand this is a difficult time for all of us, but if you can spare any funding for my mother’s treatment, it would be endlessly appreciated. We thank you dearly and wish you a safe and blessed day.
