Evan Andrews’ fight against Cancer

My name is Iris. I am retired from the Air Force and grew up in Syracuse NY! My nephew, Evan, who lives in Syracuse NY is 11 years old. He was recently diagnosed with Stage 4A Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and immediately began treatment a few weeks ago. Our family is close and we have friends that we also call family all over the world ! I’m asking for prayers first and maybe a little help and support for them during this difficult time. I know my family would never ask for help. They are the first ones to offer and give help to others and have even coordinated fund raisers in the past...never expecting to be on the receiving end of one! Since Evan was little he has had this wonderful smile and ability to make you want to be nice. He cares deeply about others and loves on everyone! He makes a room shine from being in it and when I ask him, even now, “buddy, what do you need or want?” he says “just your love ❤️”

I know others who have been through this and I’ve seen the hardship between medical costs, gas, parking, food on the go, and other unexpected costs to provide happiness and comfort.. also, they may need excessive time off of work, etc. Costs add up fast. In addition to Evan’s full calendar of scheduled chemotherapies, check-ups, labs, etc there will also be unexpected Emergency Room visits and hospital stays. There will be a lot of juggling of schedules, errands, last minute plan changes on the fly, etc.

I’m starting this fund and I know pride can take over but I know it will help in ways Evan needs or will need in the future. This fight is not a short one. If you are unable to donate, please share, copy/paste to co-workers, friends, social media pages etc.

Feel free to get creative and fundraise and donate that way too.  The old saying was “it takes a village to raise a child”... it’s true!! Evan is loved by many and he’s strong!!
