Evan Davies's Eagle Scout Project at FIE

Hi, my name is Evan Davies. I am 14 and a 9th grader at Orange Park High School.

I am fundraising for one of the final steps in my path to becoming an Eagle Scout. In first grade, I began my scouting journey as a Tiger in Cub Scout Pack 802. After a brief pause, I joined back as a Webelo in fourth grade. Since crossing over to BSA Troop 892, I have worked my way up to Life Scout over the course of nearly 5 years.

I have always had an interest in designing and building. That combined with my desire to serve and help others are the driving forces in my proposed project.

My Eagle Scout project is designed to help students at Fleming Island Elementary School after hearing there was a desire for both teachers and students to have an outdoor learning area. I have planned to construct four picnic tables with umbrellas to serve that very purpose. This will provide teachers and students a space where they can go outside to teach and learn when weather permits. Each table will comfortably seat 6. The project site at FIE is pictured below.

With your contributions, I plan to purchase 4 tables, 4 umbrellas, and 4 umbrella bases (see pictures below). Any and all donations are very much appreciated, and any extra funds raised will be donated to Fleming Island Elementary School to further benefit and enhance the outdoor space.
