Honoring Evan Giblin: Support for His Wife and Unborn Child
Donation protected
Update (02/16/2025):
We wanted to share an important update—a non-profit organization reached out with concerns that Evan’s passing may have been due to a genetic heart condition. They believe his entire family, including his unborn daughter, could be at risk and are guiding us through testing. This is a lot to take in, but we’re grateful to have experts helping us navigate it.
Also, due to the snow, Evan’s funeral, which was originally scheduled for Friday, 2/14/25, had to be moved last minute. If you were planning to attend, please reach out to the family for updated details.
We are still trying to raise money to give Skylar and the baby some financial security as they face life without Evan, as well as to cover funeral expenses. Every donation, every share, and every kind word makes a difference. Thank you all for your love and support—it means more than we can ever say. ❤️
Update (02/09/2025):
We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Thank you to everyone who has donated and shared.
We wanted to provide an update—so far, the autopsy report has been inconclusive, as no definitive cause for Evan’s sudden passing has been identified. Further testing is still underway.
Additionally, we have found a funeral home and burial site where Evan will be laid to rest. For those interested in attending the service, please reach out for further details.
After much consideration, we have decided to increase the fundraising goal to help ensure that Skylar and her baby do not have to worry about financial stability while grieving the loss of their beloved husband and father. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to us, and we truly appreciate every donation, share, and message of support.
If you are unable to donate financially, we ask that you please consider sharing Evan’s story to help us spread the message. Every share helps us reach more people who may want to support Skylar and their baby during this incredibly difficult time. Thank you for standing with us.
Original Post:
On 2/6/2025, we unexpectedly lost our beloved son, brother, husband, uncle, grandson, nephew, cousin, and soon to be father, Evan Giblin. He was 29 years old, one semester away from becoming a psychiatric nurse practitioner. At this time, we are still unsure of his cause of death - the doctors said there may have been an underlying heart condition. Evan loved spending time with his wife and their dog Goose, hiking, beach trips, learning, listening to music, and playing video games.
Evan leaves behind his wife, Skylar, and their daughter, who is due to be born later this month. The night before he passed, they stayed up late, talking about how they would likely live to be 100 together. They had their whole future mapped out, envisioning a life filled with love, a big family, and countless years by each other’s side. We are heartbroken that he didn’t get to meet his little girl; he was so excited to be a dad.
Part of their future together included Skylar being a stay at home mom, and being a teacher for their kids. Skylar has been working as a nurse, but recently went on strike before taking an unpaid leave of absence to avoid losing benefits. Now with the loss of her husband and being 3 weeks from her due date we are asking for help.
We hope that any money raised can be used for funeral services, a burial site, and additional support for Skylar and their baby.
I’ve set this GoFundMe up for my sister in law on her behalf so it’s one less thing she needs to manage in this tragic time.
