Evan McKillop's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Hi everyone! My name is Stephanie Giles- I am Evan McKillop's aunt. His mom is my sister- Karen McKillop. Evan's dad is Kris McKillop and his brother is Preston.
Early on Saturday July 23, 2022 morning, Evan was riding his electric scooter down Upper Kenilworth Ave in Hamilton when he was struck by a car.
Evan sustained serious injuries. He has 2 broken legs- broken tibia, cracked femur, fractured patella, cracked ribs, dislocated pelvis and a serious head laceration.
He has a very long recovery road ahead of him. Possibly years.
Due to the severity of his injuries, he will need extensive long term medical therapy along with other accommodations. So far items needed will be a wheel chair, hospital bed, walker, crutches, medical aids, ramp to the house and a possible vehicle to transport him to his many medical appointments he will have.
As time goes on, there will be other accomidations needed. His appointments will have many expenses associated with them- parking, gas, time off work, various medical professionals and prescriptions.
Evan is a very active athletic young teen- playing hockey since age 6, lacrosse, soccer, flag football, karate, loves to ride his bike and his scooter. Evan also has a part time job at Food Basics and loved spending time with his family at their trailer. A busy striving young man! We will all be supporting him to get back to all his favorite activities!
As we know his mom Karen, of course- will be one of the main care givers so will possibly need to take time off of work while still caring for the rest of the McKillop family.
Please keep Evan in your prayers for recovery and healing .
If you are able, any donations to the McKillop family and Evan's recovery are greatly appreciated. ♥️
