It is difficult to undertstand why life sometimes tests us the way it can.
Evan was playing football for the Kamloops Broncos, as an accomplished athlete, working and enjoying life with friends & family. In a tragic turn of events, he is now dealing with the effects of the Enterovirus D68 virus that has left him paralyzed from the neck down, requiring ventilator assistance. There have been many hard days since his early diagnosis in September 2014. His rehabilitation continues with a recent move to G.F. Strong Rehab Centre in Vancouver. There have been so many supporters for Evan and his family that need to be thanked for their thoughts, prayers and kindness.
The financial realities are now beginning to be understood. The impact of this situation for the family and Evan will continue as he moves forward with his rehabilitation away from friends, family and community in Kamloops.
Evan is a friend to many, guitar player, mentor and volunteer in his community, a loving son, brother and a natural athlete. He will be 20yrs old this month - Nov2014.
Support in this regard would be so very much appreciated.
