Help Make Ends Meet

UPDATE: Dad continues to do well from his recent surgeries and procedures. He still has a couple of health concerns and there are still a lot of follow up appointments for him and regular appointments for both mom and dad.

I mistakenly expected SS payments to start in June, but have found there is a two month delay after your birthday before checks start to come. So, my original goal was somewhat short.

I am so grateful for everyone who has helped me make it this far! You have been a huge blessing!

Well, it looks like I’m going to need to do something I never expected to do and never wanted to do. I’m starting a GoFundMe to ask for financial help.

In November of last year, I had to quit my job - partially because of my own health problem (osteoarthritis in my knees, hips, and back), but mostly to be available 24/7 to help care for dad and things around the house after he broke his hip. (I knew he did a lot outside at home, but never realized how much and how much time everything took until I had to do most of it myself!) He has had a great recovery from his partial hip replacement, but several other health concerns have come up that still have to be resolved. It has been a never-ending barrage of doctor visits and tests and we still have more to go before the actual procedures can be done. I still see several months ahead of this before he gets to his best. Mom and dad both need help doing things they used to do at home, so I keep very busy keeping up with chores, errands, and medical issues (appointments, medications, trips to doctors and tests, etc.).

I am unable to work away from home and have not found something to do from home that still allows me time for trips to Quincy for appointments and getting chores done at home. I have used up what small savings I had, sold some things, and took a loan on my life insurance, but that will only last a couple of months. In June of next year (2024), I can start drawing Social Security, so things will be better then. I’m just trying to find ways to pay bills in the meantime. Money from this GoFundMe is strictly for bills.

Any help I can get will be greatly appreciated! If you are unable to help financially (which I can totally understand), your prayers would be appreciated. Again, this is not something I wanted to do, or share publicly, but sometimes you have no choice but to ask for help. Yes, I have tried multiple other avenues for assistance, but there is always something that keeps anything from working out.
