Housing & Stability Funds

Hi everyone, it’s come to the point where despite our best efforts to find better employment or receive help through various agencies, we are being evicted from our home and must leave by April 21st.
My husband (Ryan) and I (Sam) are both disabled, and my husband is a stay at home parent. Finding and maintaining full-time employment as an autistic person is extremely difficult—less than 20% of autistic people are able to do so. After literally hundreds of job applications and attempts to secure funding or loans, we have remained unsuccessful at affording our exploitatively priced rent.
This situation has caused a great amount of stress for us and we are doing our best to navigate a sea of applications and court documents and phone calls while also being present and patient with our 2-year-old son, Juno. He deserves a safe place to live and parents who aren’t panicking about keeping a roof over his head.
This is obviously not an ideal situation and one that we have tried *everything* to avoid, but unfortunately the solutions have not manifested quickly enough for the courts.
I’m not sure what the plan is just yet, and our options will be entirely dependent on how much money we can raise in a very short amount of time.
We’ve been extremely fortunate to be carried by our community in the past when we’ve dealt with unexpected moves and a complicated birthing journey. I had hoped to avoid asking for help again, but at this point we have no other options. As this situation is quite urgent, we appreciate you making as much noise as you possibly can for us. Thank you to everyone for sharing and contributing in any way you can.
