Evelyn and Kenneth Fund
Donation protected
This fund is for Evelyn (16) and Kenneth (11) Mora who have lost both of their parents.
In May of 2020, in the heart of the pandemic, Vladimir Mora passed away suddenly of heart failure while caring for the children. Two years later, their mother, Jennifer Sims, my husband's cousin, passed away on March 29, 2022 after a long battle with mental illness.
Today Kenneth and Evelyn are living with their 81 year old grandmother in Las Vegas but after such tragedy, they need support.
Primarily, this fund is to support their after school activities to keep their minds busy and their bodies moving. Evelyn is an avid soccer player and would like to advance to a more competitive level. Kenneth does Taekwondo and loves it. Of course these types of activities are costly and often the first to be cut in a financial crisis.
Next is education, they are both brilliant and have expressed a desire for long term education which is another reason for this page. Evelyn and Kenneth are adamant about going to college.
Finally, we need to think about a potential move, their basic immediate needs, the long term, past funeral expenses and their future home.
Long story short, these kids are beautiful children who have faced unthinkable tragedy at a very young age. They deserve a very bright future and a lot of TLC. They deserve to be kids. We will never be able to fill their emptiness but I hope we can help even if it's a little.
May Vlady and Jennifer rest in Peace.
Many thanks,
Emily and Evan Sims
A note from Evelyn:
Growing up, one of the biggest lessons both Kenneth and I were taught from a young age was the importance of family. Through the various tragedies Kenneth, my grandma, and I have faced through the past two years we have had to rely on each other more than ever. Luckily, as the restrictions have become more lenient, we have been able to become introduced to more family as well as create a family from the community we have been blessed with. Through various activities like church, soccer, and taekwondo, we have been able to gain a support system that we are extremely lucky to have. Financial support would benefit our family extremely as we would be able to keep the people in our lives that we call family while also keeping the activities in our lives that we love.
Many thanks,
Emily and Evan Sims
