Greetings!
We are the Hengehold family. Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story. We are so overjoyed to be able to adopt a beautiful, baby girl. Little Miss Evelyn Faith has stolen our hearts and it's safe to say that we have fallen in love.
In preparation for this adoption, we were following instructions provided by our attorney in Indiana. We completed our home study and background checks and we were eager to get down to Florida to be able to witness the birth of our daughter. Praise God, that we were able to be here and assume responsibility of our little girl, immediately. We were warned that the adoption process could take up to 2 weeks and that we could not leave the state of Florida until we received confirmation from the ICPC (Interstate Compact for the Placement of Children) office stating that legally we can move across state lines.
So, here we are in Jacksonville, Florida. Two weeks have gone by and no word, until yesterday. We got a call from a Florida attorney and found out that unfortunately, the paperwork that was completed will suffice for the state of Indiana; however, it does not cover anything for Florida. So now we are hit with unexpected legal fees and a new attorney.
Our adoption saga continues and we are expecting to stay an additional two more weeks. Our Go Fundme campaign will cover the new attorney's fee; additional home study visits (when we return to Indiana as required by the state of Florida); and court costs.
We are so thankful for all of the love and support we have received throughout this process and we ask for continued prayer. Please pray for the adoption paperwork to be finalized sooner, rather than later; and that we can return home very soon, as a family of three. God Bless!
All of our Love,
JR, Heather and baby Evelyn
