Evelyn & Paul Krause In-Home Care Support
Donation protected
We would like everyone who has the privilege to know the Krause family to know that Evelyn has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. There is a lot involved in how Evelyn got to this place which we will be sharing as we go on our Caring Bridge site .
At this time, neither of them are able to drive, due to the added challenge of Paul's fight against early onset dementia.
Friends and family have been asking for ways to support the Krauses. We're beginnning to see the tremendous out-of-pocket costs that will come with supporting two adults requiring some physical support due to health needs. The Krauses will be welcoming in-home nursing care into their home as soon as possible to assist with daily activities that require support. The cost of in-home care is roughly $20/hour, which will be paid for out of pocket until after Evelyn's Whipple Procedure in July/August, when the care will be deemed medically essential. Evelyn will also be covering the cost of an additional week's stay in rehab to give her body the best chance to heal. This will be $3,360 out of pocket. Along with in-home nursing care, the family is relying on various family, friends, and neighbors to provide rides to medical appointments as far away as Ann Arbor. It would be wonderful to be able to reimburse individuals for the cost of gas to/from these appointments, as it is hours of time and resources being given to the Krause family for the foreseeable future.
Thank you for your consideration in supporting the Krause Family during an immensely challenging time in their lives. The impacts are far-reaching, and we are just becoming aware of the costs that will be adding up through this months/year long journey of navigating pancreatic cancer and Lewy Body dementia. If you're able to support the Krauses in removing some of the financial burden, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your support and being a member of our village!
