We all have hardships and all of us do our best to strive through them and this is what makes us so amazing but vulnerable at the same time. My daugther, I know is one of the people who have suffered through these hardships. Raising 3 kids while working tirelessly day and night to provide for us while she was suffering from fibromyalgia, degenerative disks, constant muscle pain and back pain. In all the battles of agony, she had her losses. That eventually lead to two major back surgeries and one neck surgery, which consisted of infusing her disks L1-L3 because of the unfortunate determent her disks in her back have taken. Now the worst that has hit her, CRPS Type 1. CRPS stands for Complex Regional Pain Syndrome; this was caused by a complication of her last surgery. CRPS isn’t completely understood. It’s thought to be cause by an injury to or difference in the peripheral and central nervous systems. Typically it occurs as a result of trauma or can be caused by surgery. Type 1 is known as a reflex sympathetic dystrophy, this type occurs after and illness or injury that didn’t directly damage the nerves in the affected limb. If untreated she is to expect Tissue wasting (atrophy), Muscle Tightening (contractures) which can lead to her essentially slowly losing all functions of her body while in constant state of pain. On her case she lost her movement and over sensitivity in her right arm. Her condition has gotten worse than she is know have been recommended to go to a specialized clinic called The Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona. Currently her residency is in Colorado. In order for her to be able to receive any type of treatment from this establishment she is to pay out of pocket just for her first treatment consisting of a month and paying out of pocket. Regretfully this clinic does not accept any form of insurance. This has left my mother in a position where she now has to choose to lose everything she has just to be able to afford these treatments or slowly and painfully suffer through her body shutting down minute by minute. 8 months of not being able to work because her body has just taken for the worse and she has been denied help from many sources. My mother does not know that our family is making this go fund me page for her, but we are left at a loss with what else we can do.
