Help Evelyn walk (Gait Trainer)

Hello, my name is Andrew Holland and my family and I are asking for your help. Our oldest child, Evelyn Sue, has a rare genetic disability called Adams-Oliver Syndrome (DOCK 6 Variant), and to make a long story short, it presents many challenges to her development.

She is in need of many devices used to help her to talk, walk, stand, and grow. Up until this point we have been able to get her everything that she needs. What she is in need of now is what is called a Gait Trainer.

A Gait trainer is a device used to help her practice walking with supports. She cannot walk or stand on her own so we would use this device to strap her in so she can exercise her leg muscles and practice her large motor movement.

This is important because she will eventually need surgery on her legs in order to help them move more freely. She has HYPERTONIA, which is when the muscles are in constant flexion and unable to relax. Before she can have her procedure, she has to be a confident walker and develop the muscle memory needed to walk, or else she will be unable to regain the ability to walk.

We are coming up on the holidays, and my family and I don't have the extra savings needed to make this purchase as the price tag will likely be around $6000 dollars. Christmas is going to be tight for us as it is, and the medical insurance machine has not approved the purchase due to the supplier difficulties.

It would mean a great deal if you could help even in the slightest bit. Evelyn isn't getting any younger, and the sooner she gets the intervention, the better her chances are for high developmental outcomes. Any additional funds will be used towards her treatments and other medical/travel expenses.
