The past year has taken a tremendous toll on the events industry globally. Spearheaded by Tarsus Group's CEO Douglas Emslie, the Event Industry Backyard Ultra - scheduled June 8-9 - consists of Doug running 24 hours - and a 5k each hour to support a few events industry charities - the Meetings Industry Fund (US) and EventWell (UK). Doug will be joined by runners around the globe, as well as livestreamed content on hot-button topics.
The event will start at 11 am EST in the U.S. with Douglas and other runners kicking off the first 5K before the livestreamed sessions start in Las Vegas with the opening of World of Concrete! There also will be an advocacy panel and other special guests before the event moves on to Mexico, where we'll hear about shows going live there, on to China and Dubai where there will be more runners, sessions and special events, then onto the UK with a jampacked schedule of great sessions, including a cooking challenge, and then landing back in the U.S. 24 hours later for the final 'Power Hour' and Douglas' last 5K.
