Wedding & Event Industry Support

Wedding & Event Industry Friends – We need your help!

Since mid-April, our small group has been working tirelessly, volunteering our time, energy, and funds, working to advocate for wedding and event professionals in the State of Washington. In the past months we have seen our share of successes and setbacks, through it all we have remained committed to staying actively involved in conversations with state and local lawmakers. We are in weekly conversations with the Governor’s office, actively working with them on a safe way to reopen wedding receptions. We are excited and hopeful at the progress we are making, but we need your support.

In the past few months, we have been working with a lobbyist to help our voices reach the right people and to advise us on how to best make our arguments and state our case. Initially, our lobbyist was gracious enough to offer us some initial support at no charge, for which we are so incredibly grateful. Since this initial free support, we have continued to engage his services, as they have proven to be supremely valuable to furthering our cause. Our small group was happy to cover the cost of this for the past couple of months, as we knew how important it was to our industry. To date we have covered just shy of $800 out of our own pockets, but in these tight times, we are unable to carry this burden alone any longer. To continue to engage these important services for our industry, we need your support. We are asking our industry peers to contribute what they can to help us cover the costs of working with a professional lobbyist. Every contribution, large or small, will help us cover these critical costs.

As we know, our industry was one of the first to be impacted and, unless we can continue making real progress, will be the last to return to work. Opening up wedding receptions is the gateway to opening up other areas of live events and meetings and we will continue to fight for our industry. We need your help to continue this fight.

All funds contributed will be used to directly pay fees for lobbying support, should any funds remain beyond the need for this support, all remaining funds will be donated to a local or event industry charity organization. All contributions are non-tax-deductible. No portion of these contributions will be used to pay any volunteer for their service or support.

Please help us today and contribute what you can!
