We are not just students, we are people of color from different cultures and religions, parents of young children, women community leaders, proud LGBTQIA+ residents, future leaders in BC’s environmental, tech sectors, including many citizens of BC who are our families and friends, [link of the speech by citizen]

And this is not just about us, it’s about everyone who has once been or is currently neglected in the process of policy-making.

In just three days, thousands of us petitioned, and over 500 hundred of us rallied in the protest on Saturday. We are mobilizing many more individuals who, like us, have faced discrimination and continue to fight for their voices and our collective voices

Many of them, in just three days, have come forward, rallied with us, and spoken for us, because every single person in BC would want to live in an environment that is just, fair and humane. Everyone would demand that government officers be accountable and credible. This is not just a matter of students’ rights but of human rights, and children’s rights.
