Everesting 8849m challenge for Charles Dooher
Donation protected
Hi all, my name is Paddy Gillespie and I hope this finds you well.
As many of you may have heard and know, my close friend Charles Dooher was viciously assaulted on the 20th of January. This assault involved 5 masked criminals breaking into his home with steel bars. This has left Cha in ICU in Royal Victoria hospital fighting so hard and bravely for his own life. This has also left his family requiring emergency accommodations and countless trips to and from Belfast.
we are asking for any donations large or small which will aid his family. Any money left over will go directly to Cha's recovery fund which is going to be needed in time.
We will be "Everesting" as they call the challenge. This will involve myself completing 2 of the 3 monthly challenges related to the height of Everest at 8,849 meters.
1. road cycling uphill the total 8,849m elevation of Everest monthly.
2. swimming the distance up and down monthly (17.70 KM).
3. The 3rd part of this challenge will be taken on by Charles's girlfriend Charlotte, and his Sister Tania. They will be logging each month the 44,250 steps it takes to reach the summit of Everest.
We are really encouraging everyone to get onboard with us for this! If interested we would simply ask that you share your donation alongside your own walk / run / activity. Also with it, Share the link to this go fund me to help it reach others and help us hopefully gain a better reach for donations.
This challenge will officially begin in March for new month but We will be making a start to it regardless to get it going for February! I will be tracking these distances using Garmin tools and sharing the progress / results on my Facebook, Instagram and here too. Tania and Charlotte are doing the same with their challenge for the steps
Thank you so much in advance of any donations, we are trying to gather any amount of money we can as Charles has his own long path up Everest to climb. this means so much right now.
