EVEREST JUDOCLUB scholarships

Namaste dear Judofriends, dearest supportive Judocommunity & mountain-loving-family!

EVEREST Judoclub at Monjo school (2850m) and Khumjung Sir Edmund Hillary school (3790m) is full of gratitude about your faith and believe of a sustainable educational future at our most remoted Judospot on earth.

That’s why we desperately need your further help!

We are trying to work on giving scholarships to our Judokids to send them for their first belt-exams down to the main city of Kathmandu, which is by any measurements a very challenging mission!

We are closely working with PAM (Prisoner Assistance Mission) where our coaches have the knowledge of taking care about the kids for training and education during this hard pandemic situation.

We’ll soon also be able to send again international short term coaches to further instill the Judo philosophy of Jigoro Kano, his ethics and his values.

To support our inspirational vision of a new thriving future I do hope my thoughts and spirit will help support our Himalayan kids in this struggling region.

With the help of our local coaches Kazi Sherpa, Dharma, Dawa and Surya and the support of the Nepal Judo Federation we want to provide resources for training and studying to the local Sherpa-community.

Everest Judoclub is our dedicated professional Judoclub in the Himalayan range of Nepal and it promotes health, education and discipline for its students. As an Olympian I travel there to the Himalayan range to train in high-altitude and in the rugged terrain. I share my wealth of human knowledge with the children of the area.

Due to the still rapid rise of Covid-19 variations in isolated areas, regions like these are facing more hardship than ever. With the decline of global tourism many local people will still not be able to earn an income. And they don`t have any insurance or support from the government.

Please consider supporting Everest Judoclub and their members for a sustainable future. This money will be given directly to our Everest Judoclub for their necessities and for setting up this amazing possibilities of scholarships up to the Judokids of the Everest region.

If there’s any experienced coach interested in becoming a longterm coach for about a year or two, you are more than welcome to volunteer in the Khumbu-Everest region!
