Every Body Farms

My name is Jenny. I moved to Santa Cruz to dedicate myself to the mission of Common Roots Farm (formerly Costanoa Commons). I believe in Common Roots because it is the ONLY non-profit, volunteer-based, production farm I've found in the nation whose mission is rooted in creating a space that fosters full inclusion of people, of all abilities, to farm together in partnership.
If only we had $50,000 we could enhance opportunities for more diverse farm volunteers to work on the farm comfortably (installing wheelchair-friendly ground covering, shaded spaces for table work and heat/light sensitivity, adaptive hand tools and assistive technology), experience the therapeutic benefits of animal care (purchasing and caring for goats), and make meaningful connections accessible for all (building an outdoor kitchen and creating communicative visual supports). These opportunities have the power to change people's lives through access to deep, meaningful connections with our land and all the beings in it.
100% of the donations we receive from you (after the 2.9% safe processing fee) will go toward funding accessibility projects at our farm. We are asking for help to raise the first $25,000 by October 31st. If we can beat the rain, we can install the "hardscape" needed to enable us to continue building throughout the winter and be ready for Every Body to farm in Spring 2020.
We can do this together. Bottomless thanks for your contributions!
