Help support my family in Gaza - Please donate

Who am I?
My name is Mohamed Ibrahim, I'm an Egyptian Palestinian living in Italy. I have half of my family in Egypt and the other half in Gaza.
I am starting this fundraiser because my family is in peril and they called me for support. As my resources are limited, I am turning to our solidarity network, knowing that our joined efforts can have an impact.
My family in the Gaza Strip
My family had been displaced during the escalation of the aggression on Gaza, and were forced to flee a second time and leave Gaza City due to the bombing. Every member of my family, which includes young children, have been living in constant fear and anxiety, their dreams shattered by the sound of airstrikes and tanks. The family made the difficult decision to seek refuge in the southern Gaza Strip, leaving behind their home and memories. The streets were crowded, tanks and soldiers were everywhere on the road, which struck fear into the hearts of all those who had left their homes and lives behind in search of safety.
As they prepared to embark on this unknown journey, they were terrified, walking with their heads bowed and crying, death surrounding them on all sides. Some of my family had to deal with their children’s fears: Where will we go? There is no safe place. We are simply looking for a safe place to keep us all safe.” But in Gaza, there is no safe place anymore.
The journey south was like descending into hell. As they wandered around looking for a safe route, they saw shocking scenes that we could not have imagined in our worst nightmares. They were not allowed to stop, and at the same time they were unable to help the injured people on their way. The constant pain and weight loss added to their anxiety, and with no doctors to consult, the situation became extremely difficult.
Why am I asking for your help
The ultimate ambition and hope of this fundraiser is to gather enough money to ensure a safe passage out of the Gaza Strip for Yahya Z. A. K., Mohammed Y. Z., Salem A. K. and their families.
Why this sum and how will I manage it
We will be able to achieve this difficult feat through a specialised Travel Agency called Hala, the only organisation currently providing this crucial service. In collaboration with the Egyptian government, Hala registers the names of the refugees on the Egyptian list of travellers approved for entry from Gaza, and operates the transportation from the border to Cairo. Before the war, the cost for this was a few hundred dollars. Now, the service is provided for approximately 5000 $ per adult and 2500 $ per children.
The 15000 € objective shall cover the costs to get my family to a safe place. They will be forced to leave behind their home, but they will be able to save their lives and, from there, to save the life of others. That is what happened with my aunt Safaa Z. A. A. With the help of a previous fundraising, I managed to support her getting away from the Gaza Strip. From there, Safaa continues to support Yayah, Amhed, Salem and thei families.
This is why any help from you, even tiny, is crucial. Should the fundraiser not reach the 15000 € goal, or should the instable situation in Gaza require a more immediate intervention, I will at least be able to send the collected sum to my aunt Safaa. With that amount, even if insufficient for ensuring safe passage, she will be able to help Yayah, Amhed, Salem and thei families paying for food and medical care by directly sending them money from Egypt or, should all shops and markets be shut down because of the bombings, passing what needed through the Palestinian/Egyptian boarder.
The meaning of this appeal
Dear friends, I really hope we will be able to achieve this together. Indeed, with a little help from everyone we can make a difference. At this very moment, the line between Gaza and Egypt, between donating or not, is the line between a life threatening situation and hope to survive, finding a home again and rebuild. Help us to make that difference. Help us to cross that line.
