It is not easy for me to request support from friends and acquaintances, much less some I don’t know. I know you will hear my words about the other compassion and caring.

My husband died on December 31, 2021. Financially my world shifted radically. There was no annuity, no pension, no savings. At the same time my job of 30+ years was no longer able to pay me. I have “held on” until now paying the mortgage. I am not sure I can continue and have talked this week to two realtors about selling my home. Along with this the isolation of COVID brought about memories of early trauma hidden for years. I am still getting to know me and exposure complex trauma and CPTSD. I am living daily in learning to move from surviving to thriving.

In the past month I applied for food stamps and unemployment. I have talked with an attorney at Legal Aid of East Tennessee. And I am applying for jobs where I am able to work remotely from home. Along with this I am also working with information from a publisher on a book of my poetry. These are “in the future” income sources.
