This gofundme is created to help a young Nepali Mathematics Professor Dr. Urmila Pyakurel who is battling cancer. We assure you that all the funds raised in this campaign will be transferred to her.

This is the appeal from Prof. Dr. Urmila in her own words.

Dear fellow humans,

My heart is heavy as I write to you from Nepal, with tears streaming down my face. I am a fighter, a survivor, and a dreamer. My life's purpose has been to bring hope and inspiration to the youth of my country, but now I find myself in a battle I cannot win alone.

Cancer has invaded my body, spreading to my breasts, lymph nodes, lungs, and pharynx. I have endured 64 sessions of chemotherapy, but now the only hope I have left is immunotherapy treatment, which is incredibly expensive and daunting. The first step alone costs 400 thousand NRS (AUD 4700) for a single cycle to be completed within 21 days, and I need at least a year's worth of treatment. I am devastated, knowing that I may not be able to afford the treatment I so desperately need.

My dream is to research the scientific management of traffic jams in Kathmandu, to give energy to young researchers in this field. But now, with cancer threatening to take my life, this dream may never come to fruition. I am terrified of leaving this world before achieving my goals and making a lasting impact on my beloved Nepal.

I have always been a fighter, never giving up in the face of adversity. But now, I feel weak, and the cost of treatment is too much for me to bear alone. I am pleading with you, my fellow humans, for your help. I know it may be difficult to give, especially during these trying times, but any amount of support would mean the world to me.

I have already contributed over four hundred million Nepalese rupees towards cancer treatment in Germany and Nepal, even while battling the disease myself. I have fought hard to achieve my goals, earning advanced degrees and becoming a Mathematics Professor at Tribhuvan University. But now, I am at a loss, and I need your help to keep fighting.

Please, I implore you, to help me continue my fight against cancer and achieve my dream of inspiring young researchers in Nepal. Together, we can make a difference and bring hope to those who need it most.
