Everything lost in fire Shepody NB
Donation protected
I’m starting this fundraiser for my parents, Leona and Mike Walker. My mom and dad lost their home, all their belongings, medications, and pets (Harry and Hope) March 22, 2023 in a very tragic fire.
Unfortunately they did not have insurance, and are in need of any, and all help they can get.
My mother has the biggest heart and is the most giving person I know. She has helped so many people and now I’m hoping our community can come together and help her.
Any amount you can give will go towards clothing, food, housing and everything else they need to rebuild their home. Thank you for your kindness.
Update: March 23 - My mom found Harry's body in the rubble today... she is devastated.
There is nothing left. My parents, sisters and I all appreciate so much the love and support coming in from friends, family, and community. It means so much.
Update: March 24 - We are beyond grateful for all the support and kindness pouring in from family, friends, and community. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart ❤️
For those of you asking what they need for supplies.. they are staying with my sister for the time being - so no room to take in any big furniture yet. I'll update as I know more.
My dad was working to fix up the summer camp - which needs a lot of work to be livable. There is no heat and the floor is caving in.. he lost all his tools (socket set, impact drill, mitre saw, plumbing tools). Any help here would be most appreciated! Getting the camp set up for them to live is the long term plan. My Dad is 62 and as much as he thinks he repair the camp himself, he needs help. So if you or someone you know is able to help there please reach out.
Update: Match 25 - It's the little things lost that are starting to set in. My mom talked last night how she just had finished crocheting a blanket for my niece. She often crochet in the evenings. And how she lost all her craft supplies. If anyone has an extra crocheting supplies, that would be greatly appreciated.
My dad is a Mr.Fix It and is really missing his impact drill - it seems so silly but this would mean a lot to have for him.
*Clean up of the site - NOT a top priority at the moment. Estimate approx 13k-15k to get cleared out.
Update: March 27 - We are beyond grateful for the love and support from friends, family, and community ❤️ It's quite overwhelming, I appreciate everyone reaching out. Please continue to share this post, it is so incredibly helpful.
