'Everything to do with life!' James Angawa
Hi...my name is Amy and I am one of many of the friends and fans of James Angawa. He's the giant teddy bear so many of us had the pleasure of working with at Oakley.
As many of you know, James suffered a massive stroke at the beginning of August. He is currently still in the ICU at Providence Mission Hospital in Orange County, CA . Once James was admitted to the hospital, he was sedated for several days and placed on a ventilator. I received word this afternoon that James has been able to breathe on his own for the first time since being admitted to the hospital, which is great news! They also placed him on a feeding tube a few days ago so he can get the nutrition the needs. He hasn't been awake much but has had moments where he's been able to follow commands, which is very encouraging.
The length of his hospital stay and future recovery and rehabilitation is unknown, but it will be a long one and one that will require extensive care and therapy.
All of this adds up to a great expense and I know the Oakley family and all of his friends and family in Kenya and around the world, are praying for him and keeping him in their thoughts and would love to help in additional ways. I'm hoping this great network of people would also pitch in and help him financially for the medical expenses he'll incur over the months of recovery he'll require.
I'll make sure to include updates to this campaign with James' progression.
I appreciate everyone's support for James and I know that he and his family will as well. Thank you!
