Evey and Family Need Help
Donation protected
You may know Evey Lockhart as an irreverent, creative powerhouse of the indie RPG world. For years, she's pumped out a steady stream of weird, sad, queer supplements and games. She's won both ENnie silver and the One Page Dungeon Contest for her adventure design.
She's also homeless.
Since 2019, Evey, her partner, and their three young kids have been living in motels, sleeping on couches, and when they have to, in her van. Being a fierce, loving mom is incredibly stressful when you have to choose between food for your kids, medication, and a place to sleep.
This hurts me in my heart. Evey, like everyone, deserves a stable foundation. A warm bed, relief from worry about where the next meal is coming from, knowledge that her kids have what they need to thrive.
The pandemic has dealt its share of crap to all of us, but far from evenly. Jobs are hard to get as a disabled trans woman. RPG design on a busted laptop in the back of a van is not reliable money. Bigotry, bureaucracy and a missing safety net make fighting for social assistance in the southern US just another uphill climb.
We can't change all that, but we can get Evey some of the things she needs. Literally every dime of this fundraiser will be immediately applied to something badly needed: a meal, a place to stay, some frivolous spark of joy for the rascals. If it goes really well, maybe a new tire for the van or a deposit for an apartment.
Evey is a fighter, she'd take on a pack of nazis in an alley with a toothbrush if she had to, but she's getting tired. Please help me put a few sunny patches on her path.
