BUILDING THE NEST

Ok, gang. I'm being evicted from the live-work artist warehouse I moved into 3 months ago. My current roommates rejected my request to stay through the end of quarantine. Having just used all of my resources and favors for an expensive move back then, the coffers were already empty when I got laid off March 20th. I applied for unemployment, food assistance and several artist relief grants, to no avail. I did not receive any stimulus money and have been surviving through the kindness of my fans and friends, which encourages me to reach out to you now.
I not only have myself to worry about, but my whole body of work and tools of my trade, which are my creative babies. Relocating all of my life is no small feat. I'm hoping that I don't have to part with all that I hold dear in order to survive in this time of upheaval. I don't have a place to live yet, but I am considering this my exit from LA.
I've been on the phone for a week with friends of friends within an 8 hour radius who might have leads on living spaces. It is INCREDIBLY hard to search for a place to live right now. I am hoping to live alone in a live-work space in an artist-friendly town. An apartment over a garage, a loft type space, or place with a basement could work. I'm speaking to people in Palm Desert, Nevada City, Vegas, Reno, etc. I could move back home to Baltimore if needed, but that would be the most expensive option.
It humbles/humiliates me to ask for help when I know that everyone is struggling right now (you have no idea!), but I've run out of options. So, here we are. $4000 is just an estimate. Every little bit helps. Thanks for reading.
