Evie Mae Getz Medical Expenses

Donation protected
I would like to introduce everyone to Evie Mae Getz who was born on January 30th at OHSU weighting 6.1 pounds and 18.5 inches long. Many of you may not have been aware that Aaron and Vanessa were informed that Evie would be born with a transposition of the great arteries of her heart. The doctors were unsure of exactly what her condition would be until she was born. Vanessa and Aaron were told they had to wait to determine what the doctors would do until she made her introduction into this world. Evie is now just a little over two weeks old and she has already had three surgeries. She is doing much better now, however there is still a long road to recovery. After the first surgery which lasted for 16 hours they made all of the repairs but then her heart wouldn’t pump on its own. On day two the surgeons went back in to find out she had made a complete turnaround on her own. Everyone at OHSU is calling her the miracle baby and I must say after we got to meet her on Saturday I would completely agree with them. She just had her third surgery on Sunday to close up her chest cavity. The surgeons are unsure of how long Evie will need to stay at OHSU. In the meantime Aaron and Vanessa don't want to leave her side. Please keep Aaron, Vanessa, Cole, Kinley, and Evie in your prayers! If you are able, a financial contribution would also be very helpful for their family to cover hospital bills and loss of income while they are out of work. For any of you who know Vanessa Combest and Aaron Getz you will agree with me that they are two amazing people that have a passion for life and would do anything for their children. Evie is a fighter and she will come through this. She has fought hard for what she wants just like her parents. An account at Oregon Pacific Bank will also be opened in their name if you would prefer to make a donation in person instead of through GoFundMe.com.
