Evie’s Story

On Wednesday the 8th of January, a parents worst nightmare became a reality when Evie (10) was flown by jet to Westmead Children's Hospital.

She was diagnosed with AML (leukaemia) on Thursday and had a 3 hour surgery to put in a pic line, do a bone marrow biopsy, a lumbar puncture, and skin biopsy.

She started chemo on Friday and will have to stay in hospital in Sydney for 6 weeks.

They will do another bone marrow biopsy in 4-6 weeks to see how the chemo has affected the cancer.

Evie and her mum Yasmine will be staying at Westmead for the next 6 months, with support from her dad Mick, her brother Fletcher and sister River, along with their immediate and extended family.

We’re hoping to raise some money to help the family pay for rent, bills, and other expenses whilst they’re living at Ronald McDonald house.

We will be holding fundraisers in Mudgee, but in the meantime this is the easiest way to raise money quickly for them.
