My name is Julia, and this is a picture of our family: myself, my husband Aaron, and our 2 precious boys Malakai (8) and Ariah (5).
On Monday, May 10th my husband Aaron was at work on his construction job when he suffered what they thought was an intense migraine. He was rushed to the hospital and 2.5 days later (upon further examination/ testing) it was discovered that he had actually suffered 2 strokes: 1 in his left occipital lobe, and 1 in his cerebellum. He spent 6 days in the hospital, and during his stay it was discovered that the possible cause of the strokes was a heart condition called "PFO" which can cause oxygenation issues in the blood; we have been referred to a cardiologist to follow up about the condition in case future surgery is needed.
Although we have accident insurance, we have found out (through this process) that strokes are deemed an 'illness' rather than an accident, so the coverage that we thought we would be able to access has been out of reach during this time. In addition to this medical situation, one of our cars was hit (while parked) during the week that Aaron was in the hospital; although I felt very shaken up by the experience, I see God's hand in ensuring that I wasn't in the car when the truck hit it.
God's faithfulness is pretty incredible and we have been so encouraged to see the outpouring of love all around us, as we have gone through a very difficult, heart-wrenching situation.
We thank you all so much for your prayers- Aaron has felt the tangible presence of God through the entire process and it is true that God is 'close to the broken hearted'.
Much much love and thanks...
