My name is Sue Walters, and I'm starting this fundraiser in memory of my Father-in-Law Ewart Walters. We are sadly letting the community know that Ewart left us to be with God on July 27th 2023. Anyone who knew him knows what a dynamic presence he was. Dad was a very proud Jamaican and Canadian, husband, father and grandfather. As a journalist, diplomat, public servant, speaker and author, he worked to tell the story of Jamaica's history and the progress of the diaspora. He was a proud and active member of Fourth Avenue Baptist Church in Ottawa. He could always be counted upon to stand for his beliefs. He was the head of our family. We will miss him more than we can say.

Ewart and Merle have always been generous in helping others. We're raising funds to offset funeral costs; any additional funds raised will be donated to a charity close to Ewart's heart. We hope that if Ewart's presence or words have touched you, you will consider contributing.
