Help Ashley beat Breast Cancer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are creating this GoFundMe page to raise funds that will help our niece Ashley Perry who was recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

Ashley is a 37 year old single mother of three beautiful children; Mikayla, Barrett, and Stella. In May 2023, she found a lump in her right breast. After undergoing testing in June 2023, she was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Grade 2, Stage 2 with lymph node involvement. She met with an Oncologist in town and the Mayo Clinic to determine the best treatment plan. They decided that she would need Chemotherapy, Surgery, and Radiation; followed by hormone therapy.

Ashley is a brave woman trying to get well and to take care of her family during this challenging time. She continues to remain positive and strong for her family during this time. Ashley has been, and will continue to work intermittently during her treatment as able. However, she has missed work throughout her journey due to appointments and illness associated with chemotherapy. She will continue to miss time from work periodically to recover from the remainder of her treatment. This has caused her and will continue to cause some financial hardship due to missed and/or reduced pay, uncovered medical expenses, as well as travel/lodging needed for treatments at the Mayo Clinic.

Ashley began her journey with an extensive 16 round treatment of chemotherapy in August 2023 and completed that treatment at the beginning of January 2024. Her treatment will continue with a Bilateral Mastectomy Surgery in February 2024 which will take her off work for 4-6 weeks for recovery. She will then undergo Radiation treatment 5 days a week at the Mayo Clinic for 4-6 weeks (this kind of radiation treatment is not available in town). Expanders will be in place for several months in preparation for a second reconstructive surgery which will take her off work again for another 4-6 weeks. Once surgery and radiation treatment is complete, she will start hormone therapy for approximately 5 years and may possibly need a hysterectomy at a later date since her cancer is hormone fed.

In moments like these, we are reminded of the power of community and how supporting one another can have a significant impact. We cannot thank you enough for your love, prayers, and support thus far during this time.

Any funds raised through this GoFundMe page will go directly to Ashley to help her, and her family associated with her medical journey. We are asking for financial support to continue her treatment and healing without the added burden of financial stress. Funds will be used for uncovered medical expenses, hospital stays, travel to Mayo Clinic for treatment, to assist with other bills due lost wages during recovery/treatment, and other unforeseen expenses.
