Family faces Lyme's, Chiari, Autism
Donation protected
Lori battles Lyme's and needs a PICC line for her heart (insurance presently refuses to pay) and she feels like she's dying (as others with Lyme's at this level experience). Lori and two of her young children fought Chiari Disease recently - she and her daughter had brain surgery. Lori's son was also recently diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. It's hard to imagine all this family is facing. Lori is presently unable to drive; which is extremely difficult for a family with 4 children. The family is now extremely limited, which you can imagine how much of a challenge this is for all of them.
Medical bills are piling up. Dante is working over 60hrs for survival but as you can imagine - his salary doesn't begin to cover the immense medical expenses. He is broken hearted, exhausted, and managing the family affairs on his own with hopes of his wife "just getting better." Dante has been refusing to shave his beard until his wife is better - as a daily reminder of all she's facing. Meanwhile, the kids just "want their mommy back to normal." The family faces immense emotional and financial struggles with every turn - as one diagnosis after another has come their way.
The family is facing the decision of proceeding with the PICC line even though insurance is presently refusing to pay. Also, right now the family is more than $40,000 in debt from going to 25+ different doctors trying to get a diagnosis. Much of the treatment plans are not covered by insurance. If Lori gets the port, her treatment will be approximately $5,000 to $6,000 per month. She says, "I truly truly need a miracle!"
This fundraiser is to help the Bevilacqua Family as they face these many overwhelming challenges. This fundraiser is also in effort to raise awareness for:
- Lyme's Disease
- Chiari Brain Malformation Disorder
- Autism
Please help them during this difficult time. Thank you.
...Here is part of a Facebook post that Lori shared...
"...I just passed my 2 year anniversary of when life as I knew it ceased to exist. I'm grateful for the few people who have stuck very close to me while I've endured Chiari, Lyme, and finding out I have a small brain tumor on top of everything else. Not to mention everything that my 2 middle children have been through. One of these things would've been enough, all of them together are too much. Thanks for caring."
PRIZE DRAWING
In addition, Lori would lik anyone who donates any amount during the month of May 2015 to be entered into a prize drawing. There will be 3 names drawn and winners will have their choice of a dozen cupcakes made by her daughter, Jo... OR a butterfly painting painted by her other daughter, Malory... OR a spring wreath made by daughter, Jo. Thank you!
