35 YEAR OLD DAD AND ICU NURSE WITH COLON CANCER
Donation protected
Please join Emma Stipe in an effort to raise money for our friend and coworker, Aaron Caskey, who is an ICU nurse. Aaron has recently been diagnosed with Stage 3 Colon Cancer. He is 35 years old and has two boys, Spencer (2) and Owen (8). They are his entire world, and he enjoys spending his days off doing anything that involves space and planets! Aaron is the most positive person I have ever met. He is the person at work that makes the day fun and keeps you laughing no matter how your day is going. He is always caring, compassionate, and positive to his patients and willing to go above and beyond his call of duty as a nurse to make their experience in the ICU as positive as it can be. When he called us and told us his diagnosis, he said, "It's all good" and was so sure that everything would be okay. That’s his attitude about most things in life, always trying to find the silver lining even when things seem the most dark.
Aaron plans to continue working at St. Thomas Rutherford as long as possible. Unfortunately, in order to continuing receiving insurance benefits, he will have no other option than to keep working as long as he can. With his most recent hospital stay, scans, and chemo, he is facing a lot of upcoming financial difficulties. After completing his first round of chemo, we realized he was not going to be able to work most days. We are trying to rally the troops together to help our friend in his time of need, so that he is able to pay his bills, support his boys, and concentrate on getting well. Our initial goal is set to $50K, which will cover his immediate out-of-pocket medical costs and begin to compensate for lost wages on the days that Aaron cannot work. With your help, we can help Aaron get through this, healthy again, and able to return to enjoying spending time with his two sons without the anxiety caused by the financial burden of a large medical debt.
Thank you so much for reading and for considering donating. Any donated amount is sincerely and deeply appreciated. This is nurses taking care of nurses. Thank you for your time!
