Excellent, homeless NOLA student needs our help

Hi -

My name is Liza and I am fundraising on behalf of a young woman I know, Lovee - who recently graduated Willow High School (formerly Lusher) - with a fantastic GPA and great ACT scores, but without stable housing. She is smart as anyone that I went to Newman or University of Virginia with, and it is amazing that despite all the barriers and challenges that she has faced - she is making her way forward with grace and great academic achievement. She works part-time at Loyola to help put herself through school, and stays with different family and friends, rotating on a regular basis - since she does not live with family or have a stable housing situation.

She will go so far in life - she just needs some help from our New Orleans community - to which I know she will go on to be a great contributor herself.

Today is my birthday and my wish for today is to raise funds that can help Lovee buy a car which, while not permanent housing - will both give her a stable base of operations and also cut down on her commute time between school and work and wherever she finds housing each day - so she can better focus on her studies. Please help support Lovee in achieving her dreams for a better tomorrow - she is working so hard to achieve this for herself and just needs a little help.

Hello, my name is Lovee Weathersby and I appreciate you taking the time to read my story. I am a freshman at Delgado, aspiring to become a surgical technician. Although due to my unstable living conditions and transportation issues, I struggle to be able to properly dedicate the time it takes to succeed in my course load.

My home issues began in middle school, an absence of parents led to me living with family and friends. Since then I’ve struggled with homelessness throughout my high school years following into my freshman year of college.

Money donated would first, be saved to secure a car to ensure stable transportation to/from my classes. I hope to also dedicate myself in securing interim housing.

Anything willing to be donated is so greatly appreciated. Sharing this with others in our community would also mean the world to me as well.
