As most of you probably know by now, my beautiful mother Susan Rodriguez tragicly and very unexpectedly passed away during the night of December 11th, 2023 (we believe). She had been fighting covid and already had underlying health issues, severe COPD being one of those issues. I wish I didn't have to reach out to the internet for help with something like this, but I have no choice. I am not at all prepared for the cost it's going to take to give her a service she deserves. We do plan on cremation, but I would also like a viewing. I was hoping to have it in Pontiac, because that is "home" and where her friends and family are, but that will all depend on cost. The coroner's office called and said starting Friday, they will be charging a "storage fee". I also will be needing a uhaul/dumpster to clean out her apartment and storage units and everything else that will come later that I'm not thinking of right now, I'm sure. I feel so rushed. I've never had to plan for something like this before and I'm going into this blind. I have been out of work for over a week now because of having covid myself, but will now be out longer, due to the most devastating and life changing situation a person and family could ever go through, losing a very important loved one. We don't have a big family, it's myself and her grandkids trying to do all of this ourselves financially and we are really needing some help right now. I know times are so tough with Christmas and just life in general, I completely understand. If you aren't able to donate, any and all prayers and love are so very much appreciated during this time. If you knew my mother, she never asked for a single thing from anyone. She was too prideful and would much rather go without.. I don't want her going without this time.
