Exotic Bird Hospital Suffers Immense Fire Damage
Donation protected
We are creating this page with a feeling of heartache and loss. On the afternoon of July 25, our beloved Exotic Bird Hospital and its staff suffered through a fire originating from the changing out of oxygen tanks inside the hospital. This action caused a flash of fire, which set the rear of the building ablaze.
Our employees showed true courage and strength. Despite the danger they faced, they continued to get the animals safely out of the building. Dr. Smith was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation and once released, she returned to the scene to continue helping the rest of our staff who all stayed and helped many hours into the evening. All other staff and clients who were present are okay.
Many are reaching out to ask how to help, and anything you are willing to contribute will go to maintaining payroll for the staff, renting a space for the practice to continue seeing patients while the building is uninhabitable, purchasing supplies, and handling expenses while we assess the damage and plan our course for rebuilding.
Thank you all for your support through the years. We really appreciate any assistance we receive and will work hard to get through this and rebuild.
