Expansion of Ottawa Sikh Society Gurdwara Sahib

SSA ji and Hello to all! 

I’m Joti Randhey a Sikh-Canadian resident of Ottawa. I was born and brought up here and have witnessed first-hand how our Sikh population in Canada’s national capital has grown in size. The Gurdwara Sahib planned to expand, but unfortunately the costs to rebuild or expand are too high and there is not enough revenue to move forward with a proper expansion. As you all know, the pandemic also impacted the Gurdwara’s revenue and over the past two years, we have seen a massive surge in Sikh population in Ottawa. So-much-so that there is not enough space to accommodate the entire sangat (community) and parking causes major havoc, wait times and safety concerns. 

Our Gurdwara Sahib is currently located on 25 Gurdwara Road, Ottawa and is in the heart of the capital of Canada. On behalf of the community, I would like to request your help via donations to re-build and expand the Gurdwara Sahib.

Please note this request is not-for-profit and any funds collected will be provided directly to Ottawa Sikh Society Gurdwara Sahib. What is the main purpose of a Gurdwara? The Gurdwara Sahib is not only a place for meditation and prayer. It is the main place for the community (the sangat ) to gather together and it is also a place where Sikhs and the wider community can learn about the faith.
