Expand Portrait Park for Maury County
Donation protected
This is my love letter to home.
This project is an outdoor, public art installation comprised of portraits of people who live in Maury County, Tennessee. It is a living history project with each photograph donated to the Maury County Archives to document this time in our community.
As an outdoor installation, it is meant to create engagement and movement- spark conversations and new relationships within our community. It is meant to bring us together.
Funding will be used to continue showing the faces of folks in this community as a public art installation.
The images, printed 48x48” on aluminum with a steel frame, cost approximately $350 each. The collection is shown as a group and moved from different public spaces, which allows for all people to view.
Throughout the year, the community will be invited to participate in the project by sitting for a portrait to be included in the series.
