Expenses for Cassie & McKay's Sweet Baby Girl
Donation protected
In a year that has already been heavy with heartache and tragedy for our family, our sister and her husband are now met with the unbelievable challenge of planning for the birth and death of their sweet Evelyn in the coming days.
Evelyn means “desired” or “wished for” and no name—chosen long before they knew how short their time together would be—better describes the feelings associated with this sweet baby.
As Cassie and McKay began final preparations to welcome baby Eveyln into their home, a routine ultrasound discovered what further testing would identify as extensive brain damage to Evelyn’s developing brain resulting from an aggressive Teratoma brain tumor that developed sometime after her 20-week normal ultrasound. This tumor is extremely rare and unrelated to the terminal Glioblastoma tumor that our dad is currently fighting. Though she is perfect in every other way, sweet Eveyln will not survive past birth.
As Cassie and McKay prepare for the birth and death of baby Evelyn, they are also faced with the added expenses that will come from all that entails. To ensure Cassie’s safety for future pregnancies, Evelyn cannot be delivered prior to a risky medical procedure to drain her brain while trying to keep Evelyn alive through birth so that their little family can have the sacred opportunity to meet in mortality.
As we wrap Cassie and McKay with as much comfort and love as we can, we also seek to alleviate the added pressure of funeral and medical expenses (some of which they have been warned will not be covered by their insurance). We know they will be greatly touched and eased by any help you feel you can give.
