Expenses for Christy during Derrick's Recovery
Donation protected
If you know my parents, you know Derrick and Christy. They are just about as much family to us as anyone else. They are the type of people that would give their shirt off their backs before worrying about themselves. There were many winters that when Steve was laid off, we wouldn't have survived the winters without them taking him on with their painting business to help us make ends meet. Even when times were slow for them, they found a way to make it all work. They have faced many challenges throughout their lives, especially with Derrick's cancer. They have always taken it in stride and kept a smile on their faces. They have taught us all a thing or two about what is really important in life, and what really doesn't matter. Watching them face every battle that has come their way, when most would crumble, they rise again without ever asking for as much as a prayer. This time though is different. Derrick suffered a seizure on Monday and was immediately taken in for some scans. The doctor noticed a large tumor was back on his brain, which he is under going a 10 surgery as I type this to remove. The Ransford's and we all believe in the power of prayer and know that miracles happen every day, but they were also told they believe permanent damage has already been done and they aren't sure what this means. Also when they return home from Boston after the surgery, Derrick is going to need Chemo and Radiation again. As of right now, the immediate expenses are obvious. They are private business owners, which means while Christy is staying in Boston to see Derrick through his surgery, bills are piling up, no income is coming in, not to mention with a discount, She has to pay over $260 a night just to stay in Boston by his side. We all know everyone has been hit hard over the past year with the Pandemic, but this isn't a battle anyone should have to face, and definitely not alone. I want to make sure that Christy can focus on getting her husband home, keeping him feeling as good as he can, and not worrying about how the bills are going to get paid. Please share this and try to find it in your hearts to donate even a little. Every little bit will help and it all adds up. Lets really show the Ransford's that even though they've always had everyone else's backs and never expected anything in return, that we will always have them no matter what. We love you guys and are rooting for you Derrick!
